The Yorkshire Association has the Barnsley Society, Doncaster Society and Halifax Guild operating within its boundaries. [Research by John Harrison.]

The formation of an association was first mooted in West Yorkshire at a meeting held in Bradford on 2nd January 1875. A further meeting at York in the July, which attracted 300 ringers, decided that a conference of delegates should meet to draw up a set of rules. For further background see the Ringing World (17th October 1975, pages 861 to 865). [Research and observations associated with the Council Library Certificates Collection by Chris Ridley.]
