| Durham Diocesan Association of Ringers | Initial name of the Durham & Newcastle Association of Church Bell Ringers. 24 November 1877 - Inaugural meeting of the Durham Association of Ringers, precursor to the Durham & Newcastle Association. Held at North Shields. It changed its name in 1882 following the creation of the Newcastle Diocesan out of the former larger Durham Diocesan.
