Performances

Notable performances: On June 16th 1939 he conducted the first ever peal in 100 methods, at Bassingham. He followed this up by calling peals in 102, 104 and finally 125 Minor methods in nine 720s at Bigby. On handbells he rang several multi-method Minor peals culminating in 105 methods on 30th June 1947 and 106 methods on 8th August 1955, the record at that time. He rang his 500th peal at Lincoln Cathedral on 29th December 1966. He composed and conducted many multi Plain Major methods in hand, up to 27 methods; he also composed and conducted a peal of Original Major at Walesby on May 29th 1938. He rang in the first peal of Bristol Surprise on handbells in the county of Lincolnshire at Lea on 7th April 1984.
