Notable performances: On June 24th 1939 he rang in a record peal of Spliced Minor at Leadenham. The peal contained 102 methods. Jack rang the 4th. At the time it was the greatest number of methods rung in seven true and complete extents. He rang in the first peal of Bristol Surprise Major by a resident Lincolnshire band. He called peals on all numbers of bells from 5 to 12, all on handbells. He conducted the first peal of six Major methods in hand. He conducted the Lincoln Guild's first handbell peals of Cinques and Maximus.
